Singles Club is an EP released by American rock band Paramore.[1] The songs were released as promotional singles between October and December 2011, culminating in the release of a box set containing the three constituent songs plus 'Monster', which was recorded during the same sessions.[2] The EP and box set were released on December 14, 2011 on Paramore's website.[3] The EP is the first release of new material by Paramore not to include band members Josh and Zac Farro.[4]
Background[edit]
On January 14, Paramore posted a rough demo of the song 'In the Mourning' on YouTube. The finished song in its entirety was played for the first time live on their South American Tour, early 2011.[5] On September 7, Paramore performed at the fifteenth anniversary of their record label, Fueled by Ramen. New songs, 'Renegade' and 'In the Mourning' with an extract of a paragraph of 'Landslide' by Fleetwood Mac was played.[6] 'Renegade' was the first song released off the Singles Club, available exclusively from the Paramore website. 'Renegade' was featured as a short introduction tune on the web-series, 'From the Field' – a mock-umentary of the band's daily lives on the Summer Warped Tour.[7]
On October 11, Paramore announced they would be releasing new songs only available directly from their official website. 'Renegade' was released on October 11, 'Hello Cold World' on November 7 and 'In the Mourning' on December 5.[3]
For months now, we've promised that we'd be releasing some new songs before the end of the year. Well, here is where we finally make good on all of that. We are very happy to announce the Paramore Singles Club that will be happening throughout the rest of the year. This club is our way of getting these songs directly to the Paramore family[...].
On November 11, some of the first images of the Singles Club Box Set were posted online.[8]
Live performances[edit]
Not too long after it was posted online, 'In the Mourning' was played Live on Paramore's South American tour and along with 'Renegade', was played at the Fueled By Ramen 15th Anniversary Concert at Terminal 5 In New York City.[9] 'Monster', which is available with the Singles Club boxset but not with the download from the website, was also played at the anniversary and was played on some of the band's concerts after the release of the songs.[10]

The American rock band Paramore has released five studio albums, three extended plays, two live albums, eighteen singles, one video album, and nineteen music videos. The band was formed in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004 by lead vocalist Hayley Williams with guitarists Josh Farro and Taylor York, bassist Jeremy Davis, and drummer Zac Farro.[1] In 2005, Paramore signed with the New York City-based Fueled by Ramen and released their debut album entitled All We Know Is Falling. Three singles were released from the album, but none of them charted. The album did not chart in the Billboard 200 either, although it peaked at number thirty in the BillboardTop Heatseekers.[2]All We Know Is Falling received Gold certification in the United Kingdom and in July 2014 the RIAA certified the album Gold in the United States.[3][4]
The band's breakthrough album came in 2007 with Riot!. After its release in June, the album peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard 200 album chart and received multiple certifications all over the world, including double-Platinum in the United States.[4][5][6] The lead single, 'Misery Business', became their first charting single in the Billboard Hot 100, certified single, and in 2015, the band's first to be certified triple-platinum in the United States.[4] Paramore contributed to the Twilightfilm soundtrack in 2008 recording of two original songs, including the single 'Decode'. In 2009, the band released their third studio album Brand New Eyes, which debuted and peaked at number two in the United States, was the number one album in several other countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom, and was certified platinum in the United States in March 2016. The album produced five singles, including 'Ignorance' and 'The Only Exception', who both received certifications in numerous countries.[3][4][5][6] In 2013, the band released their fourth album Paramore, which peaked at number one in many countries and was certified platinum in the United States in March 2016. The singles 'Still Into You' and 'Ain't It Fun' both became radio hits, while the latter also became the band's first top ten single on Billboard Hot 100 chart.[7]
